Instructions

Mix the Ingredients:

  • Dice the Apple: Dice the apple into small pieces.

Cook the Apples:

  • Microwave Method: Place diced apples in a microwave-safe dish, add a bit of cinnamon (optional), cover with a lid or plastic wrap (leaving a small vent), and microwave on high for 2-3 minutes until soft.
  • Stovetop Method: Heat a saucepan over medium heat, add a bit of oil (optional), add diced apples and a bit of cinnamon (optional), and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft and slightly caramelized (about 5-7 minutes).
  • Combine: Add the cooked apples to the oats mixture and stir to combine.
  • Enjoy: Serve the oats straight from the jar or transfer to a bowl. Enjoy your delicious and healthy breakfast.

Notes

Make it sweeter: Add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup if you like it sweeter
Add crunch: Top with nuts like walnuts or pecans for extra texture
Try different spices: Add a pinch of nutmeg or allspice for extra flavor
Save time: Prepare several jars at once for quick breakfasts all week
Warm option: If you don't like cold breakfast, warm it up in the microwave for 30 seconds
Garnish ideas: Use fresh mint leaves or a sprinkle of cinnamon for a pretty look
Experiment with apples: Use different types of apples like Honeycrisp or Gala for varying sweetness levels
Nut butter boost: Mix in a spoonful of peanut butter or almond butter for added creaminess
Layer it up: Create layers of oats, apples, and yogurt for a visually appealing breakfast
Make it vegan: Use plant-based milk and skip any dairy products for a vegan version
