Passion Fruit Iced Tea
For one refreshing serving, you’ll need:
- Green or black tea
- Water
- Fresh passion fruit pulp or passionfruit purée
- Honey, sugar, or syrup (optional)
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint (optional)
💡 If using fresh passionfruit: 1–2 fruits (approx. 2–3 tablespoons of pulp). You can keep the seeds for crunch or strain them out for a smoother drink.

How to Make Passion Fruit Iced Tea
1. Brew the Tea:
Bring your water to around 175–185°F (80–85°C) for green tea or up to 200°F (95°C) for black tea.
Pour over 1 tea bag (or 1 tsp loose leaves) and steep for 5–7 minutes.
While it’s still warm, stir in honey or sugar to taste — this helps it dissolve completely.
Let the tea cool to room temperature, or pop it in the fridge for 10–15 minutes.
✅ Tip: Don’t use boiling water for green tea — it can become bitter. Let the water cool slightly after boiling.
2. Prepare the Passionfruit:
Cut 1–2 fresh passionfruits and scoop out the pulp. If you prefer a smoother drink, strain to remove seeds.
Alternatively, use 2 tbsp of passionfruit purée or syrup.
✅ Tip: Fresh passionfruit gives a tangier, more fragrant flavor, but good-quality purée works great too.

3. Assemble the Drink:
In a tall glass, add the passionfruit pulp or purée first.
Add ice cubes to chill the drink.
Slowly pour in the cooled tea — this creates a gorgeous layered look.
4. Garnish and Serve:
Top with a slice of lime or lemon and a mint leaf.
Serve with a wide straw or spoon to enjoy the passionfruit seeds — or simply sip and enjoy the tropical aroma.
