Ingredients
 
 

  • 10 oz firm or extra-firm tofu
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp dried onion
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp vegetable oil olive, sunflower, or sesame oil

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the tofu: Take it out of the package, pat dry with paper towels, cut into 1-inch cubes, place between paper towels, and press with something heavy for 15-20 minutes to remove extra water.
  • Mix the seasoning: In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, sweet paprika, dried onion, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper; stir well.
  • Coat the tofu: Put tofu cubes in a bowl, drizzle with oil, toss gently, sprinkle the seasoning mix, and toss to coat evenly.
  • Cook in the air fryer: Preheat to 400°F (200°C), arrange tofu in a single layer in the basket, cook for 15-20 minutes, and shake halfway through.
  • Serve the tofu: Ensure it’s golden brown and crispy; cook 2-3 more minutes if needed, and serve immediately with sauces or as part of a dish.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (180°C) for 5–7 minutes to crisp up again.
  • Experiment with flavors like chili powder, smoked paprika, or lemon pepper for variety.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs like chopped green onions, cilantro, or a squeeze of lime for extra flavor.
